Reducing our impact
At Beckers, we set high goals on our environmental performance, continuously exploring new opportunities for energy management and resource efficiency. We also believe it is important to understand the extent of our impact on climate change and identify related risks and opportunities.
Accelerating our Green Lights Strategy
In 2024, we strengthened our climate approach by finalizing our updated climate strategy and joining the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). In 2025, our emission reduction targets were validated by SBTi, confirming alignment with climate science and establishing Beckers as one of the first coil coatings companies with SBTi-approved net-zero targets for 2050.
Climate action is a core component of our Green Lights Strategy and is embedded across our entire value chain – including products, suppliers, customers and own operations. Our Climate Strategy focuses on reducing emissions across Scope 1,2 and 3, recognizing that more than 99% of our emissions occur outside our own operations.
We work consistently to reduce our carbon footprint through smart solutions and targeted actions. This includes improving energy efficiency in our own operations, increasing the use of renewable energy and collaborating with suppliers and customers to reduce emissions across the value chain.
We also develop coating technologies that help reduce energy use during customer application and support circular solutions such as recycling at end of life.

Reducing waste
Reducing the waste associated with the production and sale of our products remains a key area of focus. Our integrated and structured approach spans the full lifecycle of our products, from product and packaging design to increasing reuse and ensuring responsible treatment of waste in line with our ambition to reduce environmental impact.
Water management
Water is a valuable resource. While water withdrawal and consumption are limited, we take a responsible approach to water management to minimize environmental impacts and reduce operational risks.
We treat water as a shared resource and use it primarily in facility operations such as sanitation and food preparation, as well as in selected manufacturing processes including cooling and cleaning.
As water-related impacts are local, our approach is tailored to site-specific conditions and risks. Ten of our 25 locations are situated in water-stressed areas, where we prioritize targeted actions to reduce water use and improve efficiency.
Our approach focuses on efficient water use, preventing local pollution and strengthening monitoring. Water-related actions are integrated into daily operations, including optimizing processes, reducing unnecessary use and ensuring responsible wastewater management. As monitoring systems are further developed, we continue to improve data quality and identify additional opportunities to reduce water use over time.
Conserving energy
We continue to reduce the environmental impact of our operations by improving energy efficiency and increasing the share of renewable energy across our business.
In 2025, Beckers reached 76% renewable energy, exceeding our 2030 target of at least 70% five years ahead of schedule. This progress reflects a consistent focus on reducing fossil fuel use and advancing the transition of our operations.
Our approach combines efficiency improvements with targeted actions such as electrification of equipment, optimization of energy use and the gradual shift to renewable energy sources. We also continue to strengthen monitoring and data quality to improve visibility and identify further opportunities over time.
