Beckers Group recognized as Europe’s Climate Leader by the Financial Times

Beckers Group today announced that it has been recognized by The Financial Times as one of Europe’s Climate Leaders 2025. This prestigious distinction reflects the company’s continued commitment to environmental responsibility and demonstrates its efforts to reduce carbon emissions across operations in 18 countries and throughout the value chain.

“We are truly honored to receive this recognition from The Financial Times. Sustainability is at the core of everything we do,” said Beckers Chief Executive Officer, Christophe Sabas. “This achievement reflects the dedication of our employees, partners, and customers as we work together to accelerate climate action, further improve operational efficiency and develop more sustainable solutions.”

The Financial Times' 2025 annual ranking is compiled in collaboration with market research company Statista. The ranking highlights European companies that are making progress in reducing their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Only 600 companies out of 2,000 evaluated were selected. The list focuses primarily on businesses that have achieved the greatest reductions in their core GHG emissions in Scope 1 and 2 over a five-year period from 2018 to 2023. Beckers has improved its score from 60.9 to 68.4 within the last year.

This recognition builds on Beckers’ ongoing efforts to accelerate the transition to a defossilized world, including the use of renewable energy and more sustainable raw materials in its coatings production. Beyond reducing carbon emissions, Beckers continues to innovate with more sustainable product solutions – such as UV/EB coatings. These technologies can reduce energy consumption during the curing process by over 70% compared to conventional methods. By eliminating the need for natural gas-fired ovens, they significantly lower CO emissions.
