The delivery is part of orders for a total of 220 Flexity Outlook trams from STIB, including 70 seven-module trams and 150 five-module vehicles. Bombardier Transportation president and CEO Lutz Bertling said: "Over the last ten years, we have delivered to STIB 220 Flexity trams, the world’s biggest fleet of a single type of trams." STIB awarded the initial contract for 46 trams in October 2003, while the company ordered additional trains in 2005, 2008 and 2010. Source: www.railway-technology.com.
