Supply Chain Manager (m/w/d) Germany

The job holder will be responsible for the end-to-end flow of materials at our German site in Dormagen (North Rhine-Westphalia). This position is a key role within the German organization, will manage a team of approx. 15 people and will report directly to the Operations Director and functionally to the Global Supply Chain Director.

About the position:

The job holder will be responsible for the end-to-end flow of materials at our German site in Dormagen (North Rhine-Westphalia). This position is a key role within the German organization, will manage a team of approx. 15 people and will report directly to the Operations Director and functionally to the Global Supply Chain Director.

 

Your responsibilities and deliverables:
  • Permanent liaison with production teams to ensure smooth planning of needs and supply about materials and services
  • Liaison with suppliers in order to efficiently manage purchasing action in cooperation with procurement manager
  • Establish raw material demand planning and robust supply chains
  • Meet with customers in case of need to improve order & delivery process or solve issue in coordination with sales team
  • Responsibility for inventory including proper stock levels and days of inventory for raw materials and finished goods
  • Use existing reporting tools as well as develop improvements to monitor and determine material usage patterns. Define product categories (Make to Order, Make to Stock) based on sales information and manage MRP and planning systems such as minimum, maximum, reorder quantity
  • Determine and implement changes to improve the levels of stock control and working capital while maximizing service levels
  • Review monthly DOI and other reports and take corrective action. Ensure that stock levels are aligned with budget
  • Execute cycle count program in coordination with Production, Accounting and annual inventory stock
  • Evaluate, plan and communicate the disposal of aging materials
  • Improve and maintain efficient housekeeping in our different warehouses
  • Ensure robust customer claim handling process and potential goods return
  • Initiate and conduct transport claims and settlements on defective or rejected incoming materials
  • Follow transporter’s quality of service
  • Identify and initiate cost saving projects

Your profile:
  • Bachelor/Master degree required with minimum of 8+ years supply chain experience, any other related qualification and or experience will be advantageous
  • Progressive leadership experience and responsibility in one or more areas of the supply chain function: planning & forecasting, purchasing, shipping and receiving, logistics, inventory, customer service, etc.
  • People person, strong team spirit and engagement in collaboration
  • Good reactivity to take fast decision and able to quickly change the priorities when required
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of various competencies and objectives
  • Good communication, problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strategic view with an attention to detail and hands-on approach
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Business acumen and customer focus (internal and external)
  • High sensitivity to quality, safety, environment, housekeeping (5S)
