Beckers' Bio-Based    Paint Systems

Beckers’ coatings for domestic appliances can include a significant proportion of bio-based material without sacrificing performance. We continue to invest further in the research and development of these types of coatings, aiming to increase the bio-sourced content and introduce renewable/recycled raw materials.

Beckers’ vision is to be the mostsustainable industrial coatings company by 2030. Among other things, this entails that we provide surface coatings with both material and functional sustainability.

Beckers Sustainability    Index

Beckers Sustainability Index (BSI) measures the overall sustainability level of our products. It is a transparent product classification tool that classifies the sustainable impact of coating systems along material and functional dimensions. We call our most sustainable products Net-Sustainable, which means they have a positive balance of material and functional sustainability characteristics.

Coatings are materially sustainable when derived from sustainably mined minerals that are not scarce in nature. They must be free from persistent or toxic substances and based on renewable or recycled organic raw materials. Furthermore, they should be manufactured with minimal climate impact.

Our smooth and structured DA coatings, in both polyurethane and polyester qualities, have a bio-content of at least 30% in the dry film. Their performance has been evaluated in a range of domestic applications to meet the individual needs of the end-user.
