Monika Mazur

Quality, Environment & Management Systems Manager in Tarnów, Poland

What do you do?

I’m a quality, environment and management systems manager. I’m also the board representative for the integrated management system here in Tarnów. My responsibilities include internal audits, management reviews, procedure updates, re-certifications, KPI and EKPI reporting and supervision of corrective-preventive actions. I’m very involved in sustainability and in our environmental targets, as well as in supervising claims solving. I also supervise the procedures connected with obtaining environmental permissions and the Seveso Directives. Lately, I’ve been involved in our factory’s expansion project, called “Lajkonik”.

How long have you worked for Beckers?

Since November 2002.

What does a typical day at work look like?

Actually, every day is different. But I could say that checking my e-mails and calendar, planning my “to do” list and being flexible and helpful are the things my days have in common.

What’s the most interesting part of your job?

Learning new things, facing challenges, dealing with my own limits, working with people and being a part of big projects.

What’s the best thing about working for Beckers?

The best thing is probably the element of change. I love change, especially when it’s for the better. I started my adventure with Beckers as an office assistant. Then I became more and more involved in accountancy, after which I landed in the Logistics and Customer Service department. I also spent some time in the Coil Coatings laboratory, because I actually studied chemistry and environmental protection. Now I’m dealing with quality and environmental issues related to the ISO, and I’m involved in the "Lajkonik" expansion project. Who knows what’ll come next?
